My pool is screened in and we have no large trees anywhere near our yard so the amount of debris that we get is minimum at best. Most dirt comes from kids feet after running outside then jumping in the pool so large amounts of dirt just isn't an issue for us.
But we do get some and I hate manually vacuuming the pool but also did not want to drop 600 bucks on a super fancy pool robot that was just more than I needed.
So far this hits the mark. My pool goes from 3 ft to 6 ft with a slight grade and the vacuum seems to move to all areas without any issues.
The scrubbing elements on the bottom are basic and it's not going to be as adequate as a good hard brushing manually but that wasn't what I needed.
Basically I just wanted something to grab the fine piles of dirt that accumulate after a weekend's use of the pool and this does seem to do that.
It doesn't appear to have any mapping and just randomly moves around but for the price I didn't expect much more than that.
It doesn't climb walls. Not even a bit so if you're expecting that you will be disappointed but it clearly states it's for flat bottom pools.
Ours came charged out of the box so within minutes I had it in the pool. The cycle time was about 2 hrs and it did a decent job. I'm currently recharging it and plan to run it again just to ensure complete coverage.
I did notice a couple of times it appeared to discharge some small debris but I'm not sure if this came from the body of it or if it just kicked up some dirt while moving around.
End of day if you manually vacuum your pool this is a good replacement for that at a good price. If you're looking for something to scale walls and steps then you'd be better off with a higher end robot.
For my purpose I'm pretty pleased. Would buy again if this one has a decent life span.
